Call the Midwife star reveals unfortunate costume ‘drama’ as she shoots wedding scenes

Call the midwife Star Helen George has revealed an unfortunate costume “drama” that occurred while filming her wedding scenes.

In today (February 26) The highly anticipated season 12 finaleGeorge’s character, Trixie Franklin, will finally marry her fiance Matthew, played by Olly Rix, after a three-year affair.

Recalling the special moment when the cast got their pizza to eat, George said that actress Megan Cusack, who plays Nancy Corrigan, poured pizza grease on her bridesmaid outfit.

“Something went wrong on the day of filming as well. We got pizza because everyone was starving,” said George. “And poor Megan got grease on her bridesmaid’s dress. It was a drama.”

While the oily bridesmaid dress drama was the worst thing they had encountered, George said filming the special was “a long day”.

“We went over our schedule by about an hour and a half. But it was also a beautiful day. There was a real sense of opportunity. And it was wonderful having the whole cast together.”

When asked if she could relate to Trixie’s meticulousness about the big day, George said she thinks most wedding planners can relate.

“I think it’s only natural that every woman wants to do it completely right – it’s an important day in everyone’s life.”

Earlier teasing As to what the couple’s wedding will bring, George, who has played Nurse Trixie on the BBC series since 2012, said: “My point is it’s never completely fluid. There must always be some danger.”
