The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 mid-season update is just around the corner, with Season 2 Reloaded scheduled for later this month. Here’s everything already announced for the big update, including a new multiplayer map, another DLC weapon, and the next episode of Raid.
Call of Duty Season 2 Reloaded start times
Based on the number of days left until the Battle Pass, the mid-season update should arrive around March 15. These updates are typically released around 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST.
What to expect from Season 2 Reloaded
Call of Duty mid-season updates typically include more maps, modes, and operator packs. The Tempus Torrent has been confirmed to be the new Marksman Rifle, and there will also be a new throwable along with the deadly Shuriken loadout. Infinity Ward season 2 patch notes for launch day also teased a limited-time holiday event as well.
The Season 2 Reloaded update for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 will likely include additional weapon balancing and bug fixes.
War Zone 2
As part of the Battle Royale mid-season update, the redeployment of drones was announced. Redeploying drones will work similarly to redeploying balloons from Warzone 1’s Caldera map. These will be locations that will allow players to fly back into the sky and change their position on the map.
The Call of Duty Twitter account also confirmed that Season 2 Reloaded will add all team sizes to Ashika Island Resurgence in every weekly playlist for the rest of the season. The season 2 premiere only included squads as an option for Ashika Island, with solos and duos briefly added as limited-time options. But second tweet warns that “playlist map/mode rotation will be subject to change based on collected feedback and internal data.”
modern war 2
A new standard 6v6 map has been teased for Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer. The map image provided in the Season 2 Patch Notes shows that players will be fighting in a snowy mountain resort.

More game modes have been confirmed for Season 2 Reloaded. Drop Zone is a Call of Duty Hardpoint-style variant that gives capture zone care packages, making this game mode chaotic, full of killstreaks.
One in the Chamber is a classic Call of Duty party mode that gives each player one bullet in their weapon, and they will only earn an extra bullet if they are killed. Each player only has three lives to survive in this game for everyone.
All or Nothing is a mode where players throw knives and a gun with no ammo. Killing points rewards players with perks, and they can only get pistol ammo by eliminating at least one opponent to earn the scavenger perk.
Players can also look forward to a brand new Raid episode. These episodic three-player raids continue the Modern Warfare 2 storyline with a mix of stealth, action, and puzzle-solving. Episode One: Atomgrad has launched Season 1 of Reloaded, and Infinity Ward has confirmed that a new episode of Raid will be added to each season to continue its ongoing quest with Price, Gaz, and Farah.
Season 2 significantly expands the pool of weapons in the game. In addition to the upcoming Sniper Rifle, three new weapons are available in the free Battle Pass tiers, and the fourth is a crossbow that is part of this season’s limited-time event. Here’s a guide to all the ways to unlock a crossbow in Modern Warfare 2.
