Destiny 2: Lightfall features a ton of new Triumphs to complete, one of which is City and Mystery in Neomuna City. The expansion brings a new place to the fore, and as you explore its nooks and crannies to complete weekly challenges and activities, you’ll need to uncover some secrets.
Featuring a special enemy and two short puzzles, Destiny 2’s City and Mysterious Triumph is a great excuse to get out on the streets and explore the city while also grabbing some chests for your time. This guide explains how to complete the Triumph and what to expect in terms of rewards.
How to complete the City and Mystery Triumph in Destiny 2: Lightfall
City and Mystery includes three different quests throughout Neomun. It’s important to note that locations may vary as all three are random spawns. I managed to get along with them Harbor Limingbut I repeated the second one in the Zephyr Hall.
So again the results will be different. If you decide to go to Liming Harbor, the examples below will show you a few suggested locations that are worth paying attention to. Overall, just be patient as spawn times are pretty forgiving.
City and Mystery – Vex Time Repulsion Explained
The first step in this Destiny 2: Lightfall Triumph is to find the Vex Influx, which is a column-shaped structure made of Vex. I found one in the southwest corner of Liming Harbor, near shipping containers. But once again, this is changing, so keep an eye out for them as you explore Zephyr Concourse and Ahimsa Park.

When you see him, go ahead and interact with him. Please note that this is a limited time event – you will have approximately 30 seconds to shoot down the five platforms around Vex Rush.
In my case, I found one on the bins behind the pillar, one on the front right on the bin, and the rest were on the left. If you get lost, you’ll see threads from Vex Rush that lead to each of the plates.

Don’t worry if you don’t get them the first time. While the in-game message will say you failed to fend off the incoming Vex, all you have to do is wait a while, take down the Vex that spawn, then wait for the Influx to return, which takes a short while.

You will now be able to open a chest that will definitely have shimmer as well as Neomun rank points.
The City and Mystery – Shadow Legion’s sabotaged ammo explained
In the second step of this Destiny 2 Triumph, you’ll need to look for Psion ammo. Defeating an enemy will drop an antenna which you can then use to complete this step.
Once again, the locations are random. Liming Harbor worked for me again, but there’s a chance another player in the area might get to the enemy first. As such, keep an eye out for the circular icon marker on the map (like the one in the screenshot below), as there’s a chance it’s pointing to the antenna’s location.

Once you pick it up, the game will display a second marker that will take you to something like a box. Approach and press the attack button, which will cause Antenna to perform an aerial attack on this box. Move away to be safe from the blast and that’s it.

The chest will spawn in the same spot, rewarding you with glow and Neomun Rank Points.
City and Mystery – Shadow Legion sighting explained
The third and final step of this Triumph is a bit more difficult. It involves grabbing a device displaying the “Triangle Transmitter Location” prompt in Destiny 2. In-game, this looks like a glowing beacon placed on top of a display panel (like the one shown in the screenshot above). I found one inside a ship in Liming Harbor that might be a good starting point to start your own search.

Once you’ve done that, you’ll start receiving messages in the bottom left corner of the screen, starting with “triangulation of transmission location: too far away…” This will change over time, leading to “receiving a slight ping”, “signal strength improvement”, culminating in “source signal in the vicinity.
The trick is to start moving in different directions from where you picked up the device. If you’re still on “too far”, turn around and try another one until it picks up a signal.

If you’re like me and you listen to background music while playing, I’d recommend pausing it for a while as the game will emit a sound to let you know you’re approaching.
The device you need to find is the station with the orange display. When you get close to him, go ahead and turn off the transmitter.

A chest will spawn nearby, granting you a glow and some extra Neomun rank points. This will also be the end of Triumph of the City and Mystery.
That’s all you need to know about this Destiny 2: Lightfall treasure hunt. If you plan to continue exploring Neomuna after this, keep an eye out for figurine locations as well as the Last Warning Exotic Quest.
