Not a warm welcome

Despite these benefits, most remain opposed to the idea. Edith Williams – another McLouth resident – said she had recently settled in the area and loved it for what it is. She vowed to do everything in her power to keep the cryptocurrency miner out of her home.
A city council is yet to be held, where authorities will discuss the various issues the facility could bring to residents and whether to approve its launch.

Recently, the people of Murphy, North Carolina he complained that a cryptocurrency miner located next to their city is making such a “crazy” noise that some people have moved. Mike Lugiewicz is one of those who haven’t moved yet but are considering it:
“There’s about 85 decibels this morning. It sounds and feels like you are behind a jet on the tarmac and that jet never leaves, or imagine you are in the middle of Niagara Falls and you can’t get rid of the noise as if your house is in the middle of Niagara Falls. “
He said the miner also damaged the national power grid, leaving the community without power over Christmas.
Lugiewicz expressed hope that local authorities would remove the facility, as many of Murphy’s residents are elderly people who cannot leave their hometown.
