Robert Patrick of The Night Agent replaces the 24th star in Reacher’s second season

Reacher Prime Video TV series starring Alan Ritchson has just been added Robert Patrick to the lineup for the second season.

Netflix star Night agent replaces 24 AND The Boston StranglerRory Cochrane as Shane Langston after scheduling conflicts caused him to withdraw from the series, TV line reports.

The actor will play a former NYPD detective with a dubious track record who is now the head of security for a private defense contractor who relies on Jack Reacher series of novels by Lee Child

So far, news about the upcoming second season has been scarce, but Amazon Studios TV head Vernon Sanders recently provided some promising information on how things are going bumper.

“It’s going really well,” he said. “Alan is back and he’s fantastic in the role. I am very proud of the producers [for] finding the right one for Reacher. The Reacher fans of the book, their reaction to the series was like a dream.

“Season 2 is amazing. And while Season 1 was great, I think Season 2 goes beyond that, and I think there’s a good chance this show will return next year.”

One person who won’t be returning for season 2 is Willa Fitzgerald, who previously said Digital spy that she knew it would only be for one series.

“Yes, I knew it from the beginning,” she said. “I think it’s a great opportunity to tell a clean and complete story and then be able to walk away. I think it’s a unique TV experience.

“It’s nice to have an agency that knows it’s a complete, finished product.”

Reacher is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
