Almost five years have passed since then A sea of thieves launched on March 20, 2018, and we plan to celebrate this momentous event in style! Starting today, hardcore buccaneers will be able to reap an incredible array of activities, bonuses, and loot as they set sail throughout March.

Marauder mix
The Marauders Medley event kicked off today, with challenges that return with updates and add-ons from A sea of thieves last five years in 10 days. Drop in regularly to complete objectives and unlock cosmetics and enjoy being taken on tour with the greatest hits of some of them A sea of thieves most memorable updates.

Joining in the festivities can be a reward in itself, but just in case you still need a little encouragement, all players who sail the seas from March 17 to March 22 (12:00 p.m. UTC) will also receive a celebratory Lustrous Legend Figurehead award.
Players visiting the Emporium to spend Ancient Coins will find their currency goes a little further as well, as there is a huge discount sale running from March 17-28 featuring several classic sets of ships, costumes, weapons and Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life things. Emporium visitors can also pick up the Down the Hatch emote for free during this sale!

On the very anniversary, on March 20, we will broadcast a full-length documentary about the journey A sea of thieves from its inception to today. Featuring never-before-seen footage and an honest look at the ups and downs A sea of thieves development and release, this candid and in-depth documentary pulls back the curtain and shows the evolution of the game in the most detailed and raw way ever discussed.
Community weekend
A heart belonging to A sea of thieves has always been his community, so we can’t let the anniversary go by without a chance to celebrate our pirates during Community Weekend March 25-27! Double the length of regular Community Events, this special weekend comes with the promise of big multipliers, exclusive login bonuses like the Gold and Black Community Day Flag and the Baker’s Barrel Disguise emote, and a free Pirate Legend Journey for everyone who logs in while the event is active.
Not only that, but if our players successfully push us to Community Emissary Rank 5, Ancient Skeletons will appear in the game more often while the event is still running. These special Skellies will have 50 million Ancient Coins to give away before their appearance starts to slow down again – so hurry up to make sure you can use your capital! More information on how this event will work will come closer to the date, so keep your eyes peeled for the details.
A sea of thieves Season nine
While the first half of today’s stream focused on how we’re celebrating the journey so far, the second half focused on the future A sea of thieves – namely, season nine, which will premiere on March 16. To wrap up the broadcast intrigue, the season nine content update trailer was released, giving players a full preview of what to expect in the next few months at sea:
Season Nine’s headlines feature a valuable item called the Chest of Fortune, which grants new badges and cosmetics. Players can also expect related changes to Reaper chests, new quests for pirate captains and legends, more balanced world events based on crew size, and much, much more – including 100 additional levels of seasonal progression for players to work through and earn rewards , raising Notoriety!
Community feedback contributed to many of Season Nine’s changes and updates, including improvements to the Harpoon Treasure, the introduction of a food circular menu, and seagulls circling around loot from sunken player ships. Reapers will no longer be able to run into the Devil’s Shroud to prevent access to their treasures, and the loot from these runaway ships will now drop to a safer location nearby – a fairer outcome for chasing crews.
