by Disney invited us back to Haunted mansion with a spooky first trailer for the new remake of the classic amusement park attraction.
In a new take on the story, a woman and her son enlist a motley motley of so-called spiritual experts to help them rid their home of the supernatural tenants they encounter when they move in.
As you can see from the first trailer, things don’t seem to be going according to plan – and we imagine it’s going to be even more terrifying.

Haunted mansion was directed by Justin Simien, a self-proclaimed “eternal fan” of the popular attraction.
“Our team has worked tirelessly to create a scary, fun and cinematic otherworldly adventure that will appeal to new and die-hard fans alike! I can’t wait for viewers to see this iconic Disney attraction on the big screen,” he said.
We knew the trailer was coming today because Disney unveiled the first poster for the movie yesterday (March 1), which you can watch below:

Haunted mansion connects Marvel stars Rosario Dawson and Owen Wilson with Chase Dillon, LaKeith Stanfield, Danny DeVito, and Tiffany Haddish – though obviously don’t expect an Eddie Murphy cameo.
In addition to the aforementioned actors, there are also Stranger things star Winona Ryder i Schitt’s Creek‘S Dan Levy, as well as Jared Leto (who was Morbius) and Jamie Lee Curtis (who is all of us).
Maybe Disney did justice to the attraction this time around, and it’ll probably come down to Simien’s past: “It was the best summer job I’ve ever had, and every time I wasn’t working on a ride I should have, I’d take the Pirates ride and my favorite ride, Haunted Mansion.
Haunted mansion will be released on July 28 in US cinemas and on August 11 in UK cinemas.
