by If you want to complete the story in Sons of the Forest, you must be wearing a golden armor set. But finding this armor set is not easy. On the plus side, there’s a fancy golden mask in the same spot. But here’s the bad news: while a mask can be very useful, armor alone won’t protect you from a lot of things. As for the armor, it is quite weak and it would be better to wear something more durable.
But if you want to complete the game, you must wear gold armor. Here’s how to find it.
What will you need first
Before you get the golden armor
You’ll need to get a few other items first, but luckily we have guides for those as well. Make sure you found it shoveland to get a shovel you will need it rebreather and rope gun. Once you get the shovel, it will let you get it service cardwhich will be needed to get the golden armor and the golden mask.
You should also have the flashlight and the best weapons you can get. You are heading into darkness and you will have to kill a lot of mutants.

Zoom out your GPS: you’re looking for a green circle on the map east of a large snowy mountain range, almost on the other side of the island, almost everything else. Look for the largest lake on the map, and the road at its eastern end. You’ll see a radar pointer pointing there.
Once you get there, look for an entrance in the rock wall through which you can squeeze through. Go down into the cave and you’ll come to a door that you can open with a maintenance key. Follow the corridor and go down the stairs and down one level open the yellow door.
At this point, there will be a story cutscene, which I will not spoil. After that, the door you entered through will be blocked, so head in the opposite direction through the next door.
There are a few rooms to loot in this bunker (and you should search them, there’s some good stuff in there, including a golf putter you can use as a weapon), but you should go down the stairs to level 2. Here you will find another corridor and more rooms (and many mutants).
Look for the third open door on the right on level 2. Inside you will find more mutants and a golden armor lying on the sofa. collect it.

The golden mask is in the same bunker, but you’ll still need to use the stairwells to go down, this time all the way to level 5fighting even more mutants, including a larger one at the end of the corridor.
On level five, look for an operating room on the left side of the corridor. On bed in the middleyou will find a golden mask.
After getting the mask, the exit from the bunker is outside the room. Proceed through the caves until you reach the surface of the island again.

Again, gold armor isn’t particularly good as far as armor is concerned, but you’ll have to wear it in the final Sons of the Wood bunker. There you will find a door that cannot be opened unless you are wearing armor: as we saw at the very end multiplayer traileryou use the forearm part of the armor to open the cave door and see the end of the game.
The golden mask is more useful during the game. You can put it on and keep it on your face to avoid aggression from other masked enemies. Make sure you keep the mask on your face (by holding down the left mouse button) before they get aggressive and leave you alone.
