Mean girls‘ The musical reimagining brought Jenna Fischer and Busy Philipps to the roles of Mrs. Heron and Mrs. George.
The news of the couple’s casting arrives through DeadlineWith US office AND The lake of dreams faces join the previously confirmed Angourie Rice (Easttown mare)Auli’i Cravalho (Moana)rookie Jaquel Spivey, Avantika (last year)Christopher Briney (The summer I got pretty) and Bebe Wood (Dear Wiktor), as well as Tim Meadows and Tina Fey (who also wrote the screenplay).
Ms. Heron is of course the mother of the main character Cady, while Ms. George is the equivalent of The Plastics leader Regina.

Last month, Fey herself stayed on a talk show Late night with Seth Meyers where subject Mean girls the musical came up in the conversation.
“The songs really sound more pop. On Broadway, everything has to play in the back of the house, and in the movies, everything can come back and things can play really intimate,” she explained.
After the release of Mean girls almost two decades ago, which itself was adapted from a book by Rosalind Wiseman Queen bees and would-besthe story was recast for Broadway 13 years later, which inspired Fey to revisit these characters on the big screen, but with a twist.

During the music video’s original teaser, Fey shared a statement: “I’m very excited to bring this Mean girls back to the big screen.
“It was incredibly satisfying to see how much the film and the musical meant to viewers. I’ve now spent 16 years with these characters. They are my Marvel universe and I love them so much.”
