Pokémon Concierge unveiled the first trailer for the new Netflix spin-off series.
The stop-motion animation will tell the story of Haru, the concierge at the Pokémon Resort, and her interactions with the Pokémon and their owners who visit her as guests. The short clip shows Psyduck, presumably Haru’s companion, along with the Pokémon walking along the beach.
In an official statement, Minyoung Kim, vice president of Netflix Content Asia, said (via bumper): “Netflix looks forward to captivating fans in Japan and around the world Pokémon Concierge.

“(This) brand new visual and story experience (features) groundbreaking stop-motion animation (and is) set in the world of Pokémon in close collaboration with The Pokémon Company.
“We’re also thrilled to reveal this new series on Pokémon Day and provide fans with even more to look forward to on this special holiday celebrating the popular series.”
The new program will help fill the void left by Ash Ketchum, whose story ended after his triumph at the Pokémon World Championship. After becoming ‘the best’, the boy from Pallet Town will depart the show later this year, along with a slew of new characters set to be introduced.

Sarah Natochenny, Ash’s voice actress for the last 17 years, recently spoke about the character’s development, revealing that she became emotional when she heard the news.
“They said it (that Ash would leave) and my hand physically just gave up. And I started to cry at that meeting,” she said. “The producers also tried to keep it together for me, they spoke very evenly. Several other actors could be seen during the conversation, and the director also got emotional just seeing me because we’re “very close and it’s so sad.”
There is currently no release date for Pokémon Concierge.
