The next major update for World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is fast approaching and Blizzard is sharing more information on all the new activities players can expect, including details on the new Zskera Vault system.
Patch 10.7 will allow players at max level to explore the starting zone of the Dracthyrs in the Forbidden Reach, offering new story quests to discover the origins of the game’s newest playable race. Hidden within the Forbidden Reach is Zsker’s Vault, where once a week players will be able to enter a “random treasure room” filled with “puzzles, monsters, and secrets” to earn valuable loot, according to a Blizzard blog post.
To gain access to the vault and its treasures, slabs will need to explore the Forbidden Reach for keys, although six keys will be provided to players as part of the introductory quest. Keys are account bound, so they can be used by any character on the account.
A key part of Zsker’s Crypt is the new Onyx Anulet, a ring players will earn as they venture into a vault that can hold powerful Primal Stones. These stones can be found while exploring vault vaults, and combining different stones will produce powerful and unique combat effects that players will want to look for.
While new story content and Zsker’s Vault are the main protagonists when it comes to Forbidden Reach, there will also be some smaller new additions. In addition to the Forbidden Reach, six new dragon rider races have been added, as well as a new battle pet master. A new world event, Mega-Storms, will reward improved gear, and the currency earned from the storm can also be exchanged for new weapons and armor. As part of the update, players will also be able to select a faction emissary, which will provide a 10% increase in the reputation of the selected faction. Envoys will offer additional opportunities to gain reputation with your faction, as well as new rewards such as additional dragonride mods and a new mount.
Despite Blizzard revealing more details about what players can expect in patch 10.0.7, there is still no official release date for the update. When it does arrive, it will bring more than just the Forbidden Reach. Orc and human armor will finally arrive in Blizzard’s MMO with Update 10.7, as will a major rework of the Retribution paladin specialization.
Blizzard has committed to delivering more frequent content updates to WoW over the course of 2023, with WoW Executive Producer Holly Longdale stating that the goal is to “always have something around the corner and a new update will hit our test servers shortly after the last one is live.” and in your hands.” So far, Blizzard seems to be keeping that promise, with the game’s previous update arriving in early February introducing the new Trading Post system.
